This week we talk about David's legacy and what he did in the final years of his life. When our dreams and plans don't come through, how will we react? We can either get mad at God, wallow in bitterness...OR we can embrace the wise words of Ross Gellar and "PIVOT!!". We can say " I wouldn't have planned it this way, but I'm not God and you know better. So let's go with your plan instead."How can we use what God HAS given us, and leverage that to partner with what God's doing on earth?Used with permission. The story of Mephibosheth is a great story of the gospel. Once a child of the king, now an enemy of the king, deserving of death. But then, through Jesus, He initiates, he chases after us. And instead of wrath or judgement, he offers kindness. David shows this same kindness to Mephibosheth because Jesus showed him the same. Who or what is you "mephibosheth" today? What is the shocking act of kindness God is calling you to? How are you going to overflow into the life of someone else this week?Used with permission. 2 Samuel chapter 7Paul says "let no debt remain outstanding except for the debt of love." This is not a bad thing. It's actually a beautiful thing. But here's the problem. We can take that same instinct, that need to balance the scales, and carry it into our relationship with God. God's relationship with us is supposed to be imbalanced. It's meant to be unfair. It's meant to be one sided. That's the whole point. Used with permission. Church Copyright License Number: 22773000 and CCLI Streaming Pro License Number: 22773017.
